Arkansas State Crime Lab Project

J. W. Heavrin Inc. is proud to support the construction of this state-of-the-art, 190,000-square-foot facility located on a 19-acre site in North Little Rock. Our team provided full site utility services to support this critical public safety and forensic operations facility. Through detailed planning, field engineering, and precision installation, we ensured the successful delivery of complex underground infrastructure to meet the project’s technical and scheduling requirements. The Arkansas State Crime Laboratory has provided support to law enforcement agencies across the state since 1981. In its 40-plus years of service, the existing facility has reached full capacity, creating the demand for a new, larger, and advanced laboratory designed to improve and expand forensic capabilities.

Scope of Work Included:

Provided field engineering and site layout within the scope of our utilities.

Provided excavation and installation of complete underground utility system from utility service main to 5’ from building, including over 2,000 feet of water main and 500 feet of gravity sewer main, manholes and a backwater floodgate system.

Utility installation and testing was completed on-schedule and within scope budget.

J. W. Heavrin Inc. is honored to contribute to this ongoing major public infrastructure investment, collaborating closely with Nabholz Construction and WER Architects to deliver reliable, high-quality utility systems for the new Arkansas State Crime Lab.
