Main Library, Central Arkansas Library, System Project

The Central Arkansas Library System’s Main Library renovation and expansion project represents a major investment in revitalizing one of Little Rock’s most significant public institutions. Designed by Polk Stanley Wilcox Architects, the project focuses on creating a more accessible, efficient, and community-centered environment—enhancing public engagement, technology access, and learning opportunities for all visitors.

J. W. Heavrin Inc. was selected to provide site utility construction services essential to supporting the library’s modernization. Our work ensures reliable and compliant water, fire protection, and sanitary sewer infrastructure to meet the facility’s long-term operational needs.

Scope of Work Included:

Excavation and installation of a 12-inch water main for the library’s upgraded service system.

Excavation and installation of an 8-inch fire line with 6-inch fire riser to support new fire protection requirements.

Coordination with city utilities and contractors to ensure precise tie-ins and minimal disruption in the downtown area.
