UAPB Student Engagement Center Project

The new University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Student Engagement Center is a large 62,000-square-foot center meant to be a central piece to the student experience, student health, and community involvement. The new center will offer spaces for the performing arts, dining, and multipurpose events to promote collaboration and connection to the community, and will provide campus wellness and counseling along with student health services.

For the new facility, J. W. Heavrin Inc. has been contracted for complete site utility construction services consisting of the construction of the water, sewer, and fire protection systems to meet UAPB’s campus infrastructure requirements.

Scope of Work Included:

Excavation and installation of a 6-inch water main to serve the new building.

Installation of a 4-inch domestic line with a 4-inch domestic riser for potable water service.

Installation of a 6-inch fire line with 6-foot fire riser for dedicated fire protection.

Excavation and installation of a 10-inch sanitary sewer main with 6-inch sewer service connections.

System testing and quality control to ensure full compliance with design and safety standards.

Project completed in 2025 and within the approved project budget. J. W.
